Ms journal (53pp) for 20 November 1941 - 9 June 1945 and ms transcription (67pp, made in September - October 1945, containing additional data) including diary entries up to September 1945, ts transcript (53pp) of both items, describing his voyage to Batavia on the WARWICK CASTLE via South Africa on whose social order he makes several comments; his service as a Captain with 20 Base Ordnance Depot, RAOC organising ammunition dumps and, later, their demolition at Oosthaven, Sumatra, Bandoeng and Madjalaja, Java; his imprisonment at Unie Kampong (Tandjong Priok) on Java, his voyage to Singapore on the NGARA MARU (21 September 1942), his stay in Changi (including complaints about C of E Padres involved in 'rackets'); his imprisonment at Batu Lintang (Kuching, Sarawak/Borneo) and the relief of the camp in August. Ms diary (65pp) for September-December 1945, covering his repatriation as far as Suez on the SS MARUANDA and STIRLING CASTLE. Ms notebook containing recipes and lists of rations; notebook containing ms poems by W B Aspinall; ts note (1p) of an 'oath of absolute and obedience' to the Japanese signed (July 1942) at Tandjong Priok; ts letter (3pp, January 1946) describing developments in his post war career.
