4 ms. diaries, 3 September 1939 - January 1945 (gap April - December 1940) covering her service in the ATS at an Army Recruitment Office in Norwich, and at RAF Stradishall, Suffolk, where she transferred to the WAAF (? 1940); she was commissioned in June 1941 and after training at Bulstrode Park was posted successively to Special Operations Executive (SOE) HQ Baker Street where she did cypher work, RAF Harwell Berkshire (from December 1941), RAF Honington (from March 1942), HQ Bomber Command High Wycombe (from August 1942), Air Ministry, Bush House (from September 1942), HQ Transport Command Harrow (from April 1943), RAF Hendon (from September 1944 - January 1945); the entries mainly reflect off duty activities and her romance but she gives a good impression of life on an RAF Station, comments on her work and colleagues and refers to the making of a WAAF film (April 1941), air raids on London (February 1944) the V weapon attacks and the anticipation of the D-Day landings.
