Four ms pocket diaries and ts transcription (127pp) 1942 - 1945, kept while serving with the 4th County of London Yeomanry (CLY, Sharpshooters) (22nd Heavy Armoured Brigade, 7th Armoured Division) as a NCO in North Africa, January 1942 - September 1943, during which he took part in the Battle of Alamein, October 1942, and in the unit advance to Tunis, then while acting as Provost Sergeant he accompanied his unit to Italy where it was stationed near Naples, September - November 1943, before returning to England for refitting and training for the Second Front, January - June 1944, landing in France on D+2, after which he acted as a Squadron Quartermaster - Sergeant until his regiment was disbanded in July 1944 and he transferred to the 1st Royal Tank Regiment (7th Armoured Division) as a Regimental Transport Sergeant and served with that unit in Belgium, Holland and Germany until he was demobilized in November 1945, and in which he talked about living conditions, the fighting he witnessed, his duties, and of his loneliness being separated from his wife and child.
