Photocopy of ms memoir (120pp) 1945 - 1950, covering his officers training in England in the winter of 1944 and at the Mhow Officers Training School in India, January - August 1945, and then his service as a platoon commander in the 1st Battalion, The Seaforth Highlanders (23rd Indian Division) in Java, January - July 1946 in action against Indonesian Nationalists, with an Australian Navy patrol looking for survivors of HMS PERTH in the Sunda Straits, Summer 1946; in Singapore 1946 - 1947 and finally as a Platoon Commander in Malaya during the early days of the Emergency, 1948 - 1950, carrying out operations against communist guerrillas in the jungle.
