Letters and papers concerning his internment as a member of the British Union of Fascists in August 1940 in Ascot Camp and later in Peel Camp, Isle of Man, including his detention order and 13 letters concerning his detention, August 1940 - May 1944; 39 letters from fellow internees and members of the BUF in which they describe what it was like for them returning to society after being released from Peel Camp, 1941 - 1944; 28 letters and ms reports concerning a young internee of German/Irish parentage who went mad while in detention; 18 letters from family and friends mainly referring to attempts to gain his release from detention; 15 letters from teachers with whom he had worked and from School boys he had taught giving him news of their wartime experiences and gossip about the school; and 26 letters,1932 - 1956, mainly referring to attempts to get jobs both before the war and after when he was temporarily under a restraining order not to return to teaching; together with a declaration of loyalty from the British internees in the Ascot Camp, August 1940, two programmes for the "Peel Players", and a ms notebook giving details of the Fascist activities and organisation within the Ascot internment Camp, June 1941.
