2 sub-files and some loose records of correspondence with and regarding the Ministry of Fuel of Power, especially concerning the Pluto exhibition. Consists of:
1) Petroleum Warfare Department: Correspondence concerning the PLUTO exhibition in 1945. Includes request for films regarding exhibition and PLUTO from the BBC, requests to view PLUTO wall model, request to borrow medical exhibits for recruiting campaign from Scottish Command, suggestion to sell parts of pipeline as souvenirs, acquisition of model of Sherman Crocodile and Wasp, press announcements for closing of PLUTO exhibition, acquisition or loan of models for PLUTO exhibition, arrangements for showing children round exhibition, draft text for private view exhibition, minutes of meeting regarding exhibition, arrangements with Petroleum Warfare Department for exhibition, request for publications from department, press cuttings regarding exhibition.
2) PLUTO Operation- Model of Sandown/ Shanklin Esplanade (Bambi): Correspondence with Isle of Wight County Council regarding the loan to them of the Model of the Sandown/ Shanklin Esplanade (also known as Bambi).
3) Loose Documents: Letters to the Ministry of Fuel and Power requesting items for the Museum, and a copy of 'Industry Illustrated' magazine from November 1945 with an article on the PLUTO exhibition on p53.
