All Visitors to the Air Show shall agree to the following code of conduct:  

  • To comply with all instructions of staff, IWM Volunteers, or emergency services or other appropriate organisations at all times  
  • By purchasing a ticket, attendees are confirming they will comply with the government's latest COVID-19 guidance, available at the time of the event, helping IWM Duxford to keep attendees, staff, volunteers and acts available on the day.
  • IWM has a zero tolerance to abusive language or threatening behaviour towards its staff and volunteers and IWM reserves the right to remove from the Air Show anyone deemed to be behaving in a threatening or abusive way

General Information

  • Air Shows at IWM Duxford are advance tickets only. Tickets are not available on the gate, or online on the day of the event. 
  • Once purchased, tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Tickets cannot be updated or changed in any way once purchased.
  • General admission tickets are not valid for Air Shows or special ticketed events. 
  • Tickets for Air Shows at IWM Duxford are not valid on general admission days or for other special ticketed events.  
  • Commercial filming and photography are not permitted without prior permission from IWM. 
  • All flying at IWM Duxford is subject to weather conditions, aircraft serviceability and operational commitments. 
  • IWM reserves the right to refuse admission, terminate a visit, close public areas, or restrict access to areas within the museum at short notice or without prior warning. 
  • Dogs are not allowed on site (except guide dogs and registered assistance dogs). 
  • Tour operators and members of the travel trade are not permitted to purchase tickets from the IWM website. Travel trade purchases are subject to separate Terms and Conditions. Any tickets purchased by tour operators and members of the travel trade via our website and on these Terms will be invalid. Please refer to our Groups and Coaches page for more information on travel and tour operator relationships.  

COVID-19 Guidance

  • Based on the latest and current guidance, there will be no COVID-19 related entry requirements for ticket holders.
  • Should government guidance change, this page will be updated. Please refer to our T&Cs and FAQs regularly.
  • Please also look out for our event bookers emails which are usually sent the week of the event to the email address you provided on purchase. This email will include the information required to plan your day/ weekend with us.

Ticketing

When you book your ticket(s), our Terms and Conditions and Frequently asked questions (FAQs) are clearly available. You may be asked to acknowledge you have read these Terms and Conditions to checkout your tickets.  Everyone in your party should be aware they are subject to these Terms and Conditions and come prepared on the day. 

  • Please make sure before you travel that you have downloaded or printed tickets for everyone in your party. 
  • If you are intending to travel by car and park on site, please ensure you have purchased your parking permit before you travel. Parking permits are not available at the gate and you will be refused parking onsite on the day if you do not have a valid parking permit. 
  • Children aged 5-15 years of age will need to purchase a ticket for Air Shows in 2022. Children under the age of 5 are free, but you still need to book a free child ticket for them when you make your booking. 
  • You cannot purchase tickets for children on the day. Please ensure that all children attending have a ticket.   
  • Children under 16 must always be accompanied and supervised by an adult. 
  • All flying at IWM Duxford is subject to weather conditions, aircraft serviceability and operational commitments 
  • Visitors with a disability can bring a personal assistant (carer) free of charge to assist on their visit.  
  • Each visitor requiring a free personal assistant (carer) should bring their own documentation. Please ensure you book your free Personal Assistant ticket. 
  • IWM members must ensure they have an active membership and valid membership card(s) on both the date of their visit as well as the date of the purchase. They will also need to show a valid membership card for each discounted ticket purchased. For Family memberships and child tickets this only requires the adult card(s) issued with the family membership.
  • IWM members will need to show their ticket and a valid membership card (ecard or physical card) on arrival at IWM Duxford.
  • IWM members will need to show a valid membership card(s) in exchange for a wristband and access to the IWM members area. 
  • Your ticket is only valid for the date printed on its face; it is not valid for admission on any other date. We cannot transfer your ticket to a different date. 
  • Air Show tickets are not valid on general admission days, events, or special ticketed events such as guided tours, lectures, and talks, as advertised. 
  • Tickets are not valid in conjunction with group rates or promotional offers, unless specified. 
  • Copies of tickets will not be accepted as all tickets only scan once on entry.  
  • Your ticket has no monetary value and is not for resale. 
  • You must not re-sell tickets without our prior written consent. We will (subject to our sole discretion) refuse entry to any person who attempts to enter an Event with a ticket that has been resold without our written consent and no compensation whatsoever is payable by us if this occurs. 
  • IWM reserves the rights to refuse admission, or to require the ticket holder to leave the premises at any time.
  • Please retain your ticket(s) throughout your visit. 

Refunds

  • In the event of an Air Show being cancelled for any reason, other than COVID-19 Government restrictions, a refund will not be offered.
  • Should new government guidance relating to COVID-19 mean we need to cancel the Air Show we will offer you a refund and you will be informed of this decision via the email you have provided.  As a charity, you may also be given the option to donate or convert your ticket price to membership.
  • This list includes but is not limited to, weather related circumstances, aircraft serviceability, etc   
  • Refunds will not be given for any entrance fee for reasons outside of the organisers’ control. 
  • Imperial War Museum and Imperial War Museum Trading Company Ltd will store the data you supply securely and use it for the purpose of processing your order which may include us contacting you to advise of any situation which may directly affect your visit.   • IWM takes no responsibility for transport or accommodation costs if the event in cancelled for any reason.  

Safety and Security

  • Your bag may be searched at the entrance to the Air Show by security. Searching is a condition of entry. Item(s) considered to be a weapon/ be used as a weapon, which may cause danger, or disruption will be confiscated. Any person carrying illegal items or carrying out illegal activity may be handed over to the Police, and/or refused entry.
  • Anyone who represents a security risk, a nuisance or annoyance to the Event or to any other visitors in the opinion of the IWM will be removed from the site and a refund will not be offered  
  • The use of Drones or other UAVs for any reason at or near IWM Duxford is prohibited. This includes all areas within the Airfield Air Traffic Control Area.  
  • The following list of items (all but not limited to) are prohibited: chemicals of any kind, illegal drugs, barbecues, ladders or stepladders, laser pens, scooters and bicycles, weapons and replica weapons or offensive materials, balloons, drones of any kind or animals (except guide dogs or service dogs). Anything that risks the safety of other participants or aircraft at the Event.  
  • You must comply with all instructions issued by IWM event officials, security staff, emergency services and other relevant organisations  
  • Smoking is not permitted within any hangars, marquees, or seating enclosures.  
  • Do not litter! All rubbish must be disposed of in a bin, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) can pose an extreme risk to participating aircraft.  
  • We will charge you for any damage that you cause to our venues or collection.  

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you:

  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure to (i) comply with these Terms or (ii) use reasonable care and skill. This includes liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents, or subcontractors; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and breach of your legal rights in relation to your tickets. 
  • We are not liable for business losses. We only supply tickets for private use. If you use the tickets for any commercial, business or re-sale purpose we will not be liable to you for any loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of profits or loss of business opportunity. 
  • IWM takes no responsibility for transport or accommodation costs if the event in cancelled for any reason.  

Filming and Photography:

  • We may authorise third parties to, carry out filming, photography and/or sound recordings at our premises and at Events. By purchasing tickets, you agree (on your own behalf and on behalf of any persons for whom you purchase tickets and who attend our premises/ an Event) that we and any third party authorised by us may include you and those you have bought tickets for in such films, photographs and/or sound recordings and may exploit such films, photographs, and sound recordings in perpetuity in any format whatsoever without payment.  
  • You are responsible for bringing this provision to the attention of any person for whom you have bought tickets. We will always let visitors know if filming or photography is taking place during their visit, and the nature of it.   • IWM photographers may take images at events that could be kept on file and used for publicity purposes. To find out more about how we use our images please ask our photographer or email [email protected]
  • You are not permitted to capture images of footage at Events for commercial purposes unless you have our prior permission to do so. 

Data Protection: 

  • By sending us any messages or correspondence or by otherwise providing us with any personal data as defined under the Data Protection Act 1998 (Personal Data) you consent to the processing of such Personal Data by you and by us for the purpose of processing your online tickets, and that the supply of such Personal Data to us for use by us accords with the Data Protection Act 1998.  You acknowledge that this may involve our disclosing the Personal Data to regulatory bodies and/or third parties to enable any such processing to be carried out.   • For the avoidance of doubt, we shall be the data controller in respect of all Personal Data collected by you in connection with the sale of those tickets. We shall store securely any Personal Data that you supply and use it for the purpose of processing your order which may include contacting you to advise you of any situation which may affect your visit.

Duxford Summer Air Show 2022 & Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show 2022 Spitfire Flight Prize Draw  

 

These Terms and Conditions govern the Prize Draw.  

The Promoter: Imperial War Museums, Lambeth Road, SE1 6HZ. www.iwm.org.uk 

The promotional partner(s): Aerial Collective, Duxford Airfield, Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridge, CB22 4QR. www.aerialcollective.co.uk 

Promotion Dates: From 12:00 on Monday 31 January – Tuesday 8 March 2022 at 23:59. 

 

The Prize Draw: 

Book tickets to Duxford Summer Air Show or Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show and enter our prize draw to win the chance to fly in a Spitfire at IWM Duxford with onsite partners Aerial Collective. The prize draw commences with tickets going on sale at 12:00 on Monday 31 January 2022 and concludes at 23:59 on Tuesday 8 March 2022. The prize draw will take place on Thursday 10 March 2022 and the winner will be contacted using the email provided at the time of entry. Only bookers who have actively opted into taking part in the prize draw when securing their tickets will be entered into the draw. 

 

Prize Draw Detail: 

1. The prize draw is open to ticket purchasers for Duxford Summer Air Show and/or Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show only. 

2. To enter the draw, ticket bookers must tick the opt in box which gives permission for data to be entered into the competition.  

3. There is one prize to give away.  

4. The prize is a single flight in a Spitfire T9 at IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire, for one person, care of IWM’s partners, Aerial Collective. 

5. Although the prize is for a single Spitfire flight, the prize includes entry for up to four people (participant plus up to three guests) to IWM Duxford on the confirmed date. 

6. The date and time of the flight must be booked and confirmed with Aerial Collective at least two weeks in advance and will be subject to availability.  

7. Please enquire and book as soon as possible if you are the lucky winner.  

8. Details of how to book the flight and day, will be in the winner’s confirmation email. 

9.  The flight must be taken by 31 October 2022.  

10. Flights are subject to availability and weather conditions. A cancelled flight will be rebooked but IWM will not be able to refund costs incurred by the winner because of rebooking. 

 

Eligibility: 

Entrants must:

12. Living in the United Kingdom 

13. The promotion excludes employees and the immediate families of Imperial War Museums, and partners Aerial Collective, its agents, or anyone professionally connected with this promotion. 

14. The prize draw is open to only one entry per email address. 

15. The person who intends to take the single, one-person flight experience, must be aged 18 or over, a maximum height of 6ft 2” (188cm) and a maximum weight of 230lbs (105kg). 

16. The person who intends to take the flight experience, must meet the necessary medical requirements; you will not be able to undertake the flight if you are suffering from any serious medical conditions (including epilepsy, fits, severe head injuries, uncontrolled high blood pressure or heart conditions, have recently undergone surgery or are on prescription medication which may affect your fitness to fly). 

 

Exclusions: 

17. Flights must be taken before 31 October 2022 and cannot be taken on a Duxford Air Show, Flying Day, or other special flying season event day. 

18. The prize must be taken by the winner in person unless otherwise agreed in writing by IWM. 

19. Details of how to book and claim the prize will be included in the winner’s communication, including how to transfer the voucher to a named person. 

18. The flight is subject to a minimum age of 18 years, a maximum height of 6ft 2” (188cm) and a maximum weight of 230lbs (105kg). The winner will be weighed and measured on the day to ensure they are safe to fly. 

19. The prize is subject to availability. 

20. There is no cash or other alternative for the prizes in whole or in part. 

21. The Prize Draw voucher cannot be exchanged for cash or resold.  

22. Any attempt to sell or exchange the prize will result in the prize being withdrawn by IWM and the prize will be declared null and void. 

23. Transport to IWM Duxford or accommodation is not included in the prize package.  

24. All other costs and expenses in taking up a prize, including but not limited to transport costs and spending money as required, are the winner’s own. 

 

Claiming the prize:  

25. The winner will be selected by random draw at the offices of the promoter.  

26. Imperial War Museums will email the winner on Thursday 10 March 2022.  

27. Please make sure you provide an email address you actively monitor when booking tickets and opting to enter the prize draw.  

28. The winner must claim the prize within 7 working days of IWM sending notification. 

29. If the winner cannot take up the prize draw, or the prize remains unclaimed after this time, the offer will lapse. 

30. IWM will redraw the prize until a contactable winner has been located and the prize is claimed.    

 

Other Important Information: 

31. IWM will use your details for the Prize Draw only and not further use of disclose your email or any personal information without your consent.  

32. The winner and their guests (where applicable) will be required to sign a publicity release form before the prize can be fulfilled. 

33. The publicity form will give permission for IWM or its promotional partner, Aerial Collective to use the images, video or soundbites agreed on the day for press and promotional purposes without further recompense, including social media. 

34. The prize must be taken in accordance with government guidance and COVID-19 rules and restrictions.  

35. The latest government guidance should be reviewed before entering or accepting the prize.

37. IWM will not be held responsible for entries received after the stated closing date.

40. To the extent permitted by law, the promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including, but not limited to, direct or consequential loss) in connection with entry into the competition or acceptance of the prize. 

41. The decision of IWM and its appointed representatives is final in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into. 

42. This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

43. The personal information collected for the prize draw by IWM will only be used to notify the winner and will not be used for marketing or any other purpose.  

44. Your information will only be kept for as long as is required to process the Prize Draw.

Flying Days

For all Flying Days (23 July, 1 August and 9 October)

You will be asked to familiarise yourself with these Terms and Conditions (below) before you book.

All Visitors to the Flying Days shall agree to the following code of conduct:

  • To comply with all instructions of staff, IWM Volunteers, or emergency services or other appropriate organisations at all times.
  • By purchasing a ticket, attendees are confirming they will comply with the government's latest COVID-19 guidance, available at the time of the event, helping IWM Duxford to keep attendees, staff, volunteers and acts available on the day.
  • IWM has a zero tolerance to abusive language or threatening behaviour towards its staff and volunteers and IWM reserves the right to remove from the event anyone deemed to be behaving in a threatening or abusive way.

General Information

  • Flying Days at IWM Duxford are advance tickets only. Tickets are not available on the gate, or online on the day of the event.
  • Once purchased, tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Tickets cannot be updated or changed in any way once purchased.
  • General admission tickets are not valid for Flying Days or special ticketed events.
  • Tickets for Flying Days at IWM Duxford are not valid on general admission days or for other special ticketed events.
  • Commercial filming and photography are not permitted without prior permission from IWM.
  • All flying at IWM Duxford is subject to weather conditions, aircraft serviceability and operational commitments.
  • IWM reserves the right to refuse admission, terminate a visit, close public areas, or restrict access to areas within the museum at short notice or without prior warning.
  • Dogs are not allowed on site (except guide dogs and registered assistance dogs).
  • Tour operators and members of the travel trade are not permitted to purchase tickets from the IWM website. Travel trade purchases are subject to separate Terms and Conditions. Any tickets purchased by tour operators and members of the travel trade via our website and on these Terms will be invalid.   • Based on the latest and current guidance, there will be no COVID-19 related entry requirements for ticket holders. · Should government guidance change, this page will be updated. Please refer to our T&Cs and FAQs regularly.

Ticketing

When you book your ticket(s), our Terms and Conditions and Frequently asked questions (FAQs) are clearly available.

You may be asked to acknowledge you have read these Terms and Conditions to checkout your tickets. Everyone in your party should be aware they are subject to these Terms and Conditions and come prepared on the day.

  • Please make sure before you travel that you have downloaded or printed tickets for everyone in your party.
  • Children aged 5-15 years of age will need to purchase a ticket for Flying Days in 2022. Children under the age of 5 are free, but you still need to book a free child ticket for them when you make your booking.
  • Children under 16 must always be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
  • All flying at IWM Duxford is subject to weather conditions, aircraft serviceability and operational commitments
  • Visitors with a disability can bring a personal assistant (carer) free of charge to assist on their visit.
  • Each visitor requiring a free personal assistant (carer) should bring their own documentation. Please ensure you book your free Personal Assistant ticket.
  • IWM members must ensure they have an active membership and valid membership card(s) on both the date of their visit as well as the date of the purchase. They will also need to show a valid membership card for each discounted ticket purchased. For Family memberships and child tickets this only requires the adult card(s) issued with the family membership.
  • IWM members will need to show their ticket and a valid membership card (ecard or physical card) on arrival at IWM Duxford.
  • Your ticket is only valid for the date printed on its face; it is not valid for admission on any other date. We cannot transfer your ticket to a different date.
  • Flying Days tickets are not valid on general admission days, events, or special ticketed events such as guided tours, lectures, and talks, as advertised.
  • Tickets are not valid in conjunction with group rates or promotional offers, unless specified.
  • Copies of tickets will not be accepted as all tickets only scan once on entry.
  • Your ticket has no monetary value and is not for resale.
  • You must not re-sell tickets without our prior written consent. We will (subject to our sole discretion) refuse entry to any person who attempts to enter an Event with a ticket that has been resold without our written consent and no compensation whatsoever is payable by us if this occurs.
  • IWM reserves the rights to refuse admission, or to require the ticket holder to leave the premises at any time.
  • Please retain your ticket(s) throughout your visit.

Refunds

  •  In the event of a Flying Days being cancelled for any reason, other than COVID-19 Government restrictions, a refund will not be offered.
  • Should new government guidance relating to COVID-19 mean we need to cancel the Flying Day we will offer you a refund and you will be informed of this decision via the email you have provided. As a charity, you may also be given the option to donate or convert your ticket price to membership.
  • This list includes but is not limited to, weather related circumstances, aircraft serviceability, etc
  • Refunds will not be given for any entrance fee for reasons outside of the organisers’ control.
  • Imperial War Museum and Imperial War Museum Trading Company Ltd will store the data you supply securely and use it for the purpose of processing your order which may include us contacting you to advise of any situation which may directly affect your visit.   • IWM takes no responsibility for transport or accommodation costs if the event in cancelled for any reason.

Safety and Security

  • Your bag may be searched at the entrance to the Flying Days by security. Searching is a condition of entry. Item(s) considered to be a weapon/ be used as a weapon, which may cause danger, or disruption will be confiscated. Any person carrying illegal items or carrying out illegal activity may be handed over to the Police, and/or refused entry.
  • Anyone who represents a security risk, a nuisance or annoyance to the Event or to any other visitors in the opinion of the IWM will be removed from the site and a refund will not be offered
  • The use of Drones or other UAVs for any reason at or near IWM Duxford is prohibited. This includes all areas within the Airfield Air Traffic Control Area.
  • The following list of items (all but not limited to) are prohibited: chemicals of any kind, illegal drugs, barbecues, ladders or stepladders, laser pens, scooters and bicycles, weapons and replica weapons or offensive materials, balloons, drones of any kind or animals (except guide dogs or service dogs). Anything that risks the safety of other participants or aircraft at the Event.
  • You must comply with all instructions issued by IWM event officials, security staff, emergency services and other relevant organisations
  • Smoking is not permitted within any hangars, marquees, or seating enclosures.
  • Do not litter! All rubbish must be disposed of in a bin, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) can pose an extreme risk to participating aircraft.
  • We will charge you for any damage that you cause to our venues or collection.

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you:

  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure to (i) comply with these Terms or (ii) use reasonable care and skill. This includes liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents, or subcontractors; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and breach of your legal rights in relation to your tickets.
  • We are not liable for business losses. We only supply tickets for private use. If you use the tickets for any commercial, business or re-sale purpose we will not be liable to you for any loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of profits or loss of business opportunity.
  • IWM takes no responsibility for transport or accommodation costs if the event in cancelled for any reason.

Filming and Photography:

  • We may authorise third parties to carry out filming, photography and/or sound recordings at our premises and at Events. By purchasing tickets, you agree (on your own behalf and on behalf of any persons for whom you purchase tickets and who attend our premises/ an Event) that we and any third party authorised by us may include you and those you have bought tickets for in such films, photographs and/or sound recordings and may exploit such films, photographs, and sound recordings in perpetuity in any format whatsoever without payment.
  • You are responsible for bringing this provision to the attention of any person for whom you have bought tickets. We will always let visitors know if filming or photography is taking place during their visit, and the nature of it.
