There are some key changes to Duxford Air Shows:  

For Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show  (18 & 19 September)

  • Please refer to our COVID-19 Guidance page before your book your ticket.

  • You will also be asked to familiarise yourself with these T&Cs (below) before you book, to ensure a COVID-Secure environment on the day for everyone to enjoy.

 

All Visitors to the Air Show shall agree to the following code of conduct:  

 

  • Comply with all current Government requirements and guidance regarding COVID-19. The latest government information is available via their website: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus  

  • Comply with all instructions of staff, IWM Volunteers, or emergency services or other appropriate organisations at all times  

  • All ticket holders aged 16 and over are required to give their name and address as part the NHS Test and Trace program. This can be either scanning the QR code via the NHS App or providing contact details to the IWM upon entry to the site. 

  • Agree to demonstrating your COVID-19 status if you are aged 16 and over, as outlined here.  

  • By purchasing a ticket, attenders are confirming they will follow the government’s COVID-19 advice and support IWM Duxford to keep event attendees, staff, volunteers and acts safe on the day.   

General Information 

  • Air Shows at IWM Duxford are advance tickets only. Tickets are not available on the gate, or online on the day of the event. 

  • Once purchased, tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Tickets cannot be updated or changed in any way once purchased.

  • General admission tickets are not valid for air shows or special ticketed events. 

  • Tickets for Air Shows at IWM Duxford are not valid on general admission days or for other special ticketed events .  

  • Commercial filming and photography are not permitted without prior permission from IWM. 

  • All flying at IWM Duxford is subject to weather conditions, aircraft serviceability and operational commitments. 

  • IWM reserves the right to refuse admission, terminate a visit, close public areas, or restrict access to areas within the museum at short notice or without prior warning. 

  • Dogs are not allowed on site (except guide dogs and registered assistance dogs). 

  • Tour operators and members of the travel trade are not permitted to purchase tickets from the IWM website. Travel trade purchases are subject to separate terms and conditions. Any tickets purchased by tour operators and members of the travel trade via our website and on these Terms will be invalid. Please contact us for more information on travel and tour operator relationships.  

Ticketing  

When you book your ticket(s), our T&Cs and FAQs are clearly available. You may be asked to acknowledge you have read these T&Cs to checkout your tickets.  Everyone in your party should be aware they are subject to these T&Cs and come prepared on the day. 

  • Please make sure before you travel that you have downloaded or printed tickets for everyone in your party. 

  • If you are intending to travel by car and park on site, please ensure you have purchased your parking permit before you travel. Parking permits are not available at the gate and you will be refused parking onsite on the day. 

  • Children aged 5-15 of age will need to purchase a ticket for Air Shows in 2021. Children under the age of 5 are free, but you still need to book a free child ticket for them when you make your booking. 

  •  You cannot purchase tickets for children on the day. Please ensure that all children attending have a ticket.   

  • Children under 16 must be always accompanied and supervised by an adult. 

  • All flying at IWM Duxford is subject to weather conditions, aircraft serviceability and operational commitments 

  • Visitors with a disability can bring a personal assistant (carer) free of charge to assist on their visit.  

  • Each visitor requiring a free personal assistant (carer) should bring their own documentation. Please ensure you book your free Personal Assistant ticket. 

  • IWM Members must ensure their memberships are valid on both the date of their visit as well as the date of the purchase. They will also need a valid membership card for each discounted ticket purchased. 

  • IWM members will need to show their ticket and a valid membership on arrival 

  • Your ticket is only valid for the date printed on its face; it is not valid for admission on any other date. We cannot transfer your ticket to a different date. 

  • Air Show tickets are not valid on general admission days, events, or special ticketed events such as guided tours, lectures, and talks, as advertised. 

  • Proof of entitlement to concessions will be requested upon entry, including blue badge permits if parking on site. 

  • Tickets are not valid in conjunction with group rates or promotional offers, unless specified. 

  • Copies of tickets will not be accepted as all tickets only scan once on entry.  

  • Your ticket has no monetary value and is not for resale. 

  • You must not re-sell tickets without our prior written consent. We will (subject to our sole discretion) refuse entry to any person who attempts to enter an Event with a ticket that has been resold without our written consent and no compensation whatsoever is payable by us if this occurs. 

  • IWM reserves the rights to refuse admission, or to require the ticket holder to leave the premises at any time.

  • Please retain your ticket(s) throughout your visit. 

Refunds  

  • In the event of an Air Show being cancelled for any other reason than COVID-19 Government restrictions a refund will not be offered

  • This list includes but is not limited to, weather related circumstances, Aircraft serviceability, etc   

  • Refunds will not be given for any entrance fee for reasons outside of the organisers’ control. 

  • Imperial War Museum and Imperial War Museum Trading Company Ltd will store the data you supply securely and use it for the purpose of processing your order which may include us contacting you to advise of any situation which may directly affect your visit.   • IWM takes no responsibility for transport or accommodation costs if the event in cancelled for any reason.  

Safety and Security  

  • Your bag may be searched at the entrance to the Air Show by security. Searching is a condition of entry. Item(s) considered to be a weapon/ be used as a weapon, which may cause danger, or disruption will be confiscated.  Any person carrying illegal items or carrying out illegal activity may be handed over to the Police, and/or refused entry.  

  • Anyone who represents a security risk, a nuisance or annoyance to the Event or to any other Visitors in the opinion of the IWM will be removed from the site and a refund will not be offered  

  • The use of Drones or other UAVs for any reason at or near IWM Duxford is prohibited. This includes all areas within the Airfield Air Traffic Control Area.  

  •  The following list of items (all but not limited to) are prohibited: chemicals of any kind, illegal drugs, barbecues, ladders or stepladders, laser pens, scooters and bicycles, weapons and replica weapons or offensive materials, balloons, drones of any kind or animals (except guide dogs or service dogs). Anything that risks the safety of other participants or aircraft at the Event.  

  • You must comply with all instructions issued by IWM event officials, security staff, emergency services and other relevant organisations  

  • Smoking is not permitted within any hangars, Marquees, or seating enclosures.  

  • Do not litter! All rubbish must be disposed of in a bin, FOD (Foreign Object Debris) can pose an extreme risk to participating Aircraft.  

  • We will charge you for any damage that you cause to our venues or collection.  

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you:

  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure to (i) comply with these Terms or (ii) use reasonable care and skill. This includes liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents, or subcontractors; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and breach of your legal rights in relation to your tickets. 

  • We are not liable for business losses. We only supply tickets for private use. If you use the tickets for any commercial, business or re-sale purpose we will not be liable to you for any loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of profits or loss of business opportunity. 

  • IWM takes no responsibility for transport or accommodation costs if the event in cancelled for any reason.  

Filming and Photography:

  • We may authorise third parties to, carry out filming, photography and/or sound recordings at our premises and at Events. By purchasing tickets, you agree (on your own behalf and on behalf of any persons for whom you purchase tickets and who attend our premises/ an Event) that we and any third party authorised by us may include you and those you have bought tickets for in such films, photographs and/or sound recordings and may exploit such films, photographs, and sound recordings in perpetuity in any format whatsoever without payment.  

  • You are responsible for bringing this provision to the attention of any person for whom you have bought tickets. We will always let visitors know if filming or photography is taking place during their visit, and the nature of it.   • IWM photographers may take images at events that could be kept on file and used for publicity purposes. To find out more about how we use our images please ask our photographer or email [email protected]

  •  You are not permitted to capture images of footage at Events for commercial purposes unless you have our prior permission to do so. 

Data Protection: 

  • By sending us any messages or correspondence or by otherwise providing us with any personal data as defined under the Data Protection Act 1998 (Personal Data) you consent to the processing of such Personal Data by you and by us for the purpose of processing your online tickets, and that the supply of such Personal Data to us for use by us accords with the Data Protection Act 1998.  You acknowledge that this may involve our disclosing the Personal Data to regulatory bodies and/or third parties to enable any such processing to be carried out.   • For the avoidance of doubt, we shall be the data controller in respect of all Personal Data collected by you in connection with the sale of those tickets. We shall store securely any Personal Data that you supply and use it for the purpose of processing your order which may include contacting you to advise you of any situation which may affect your visit.
