Important event information

The list below comprises the general terms and conditions for attending an IWM Duxford Flying Season event.

You are asked to familiarise yourself with these Terms and Conditions before you book tickets. 

You will then be asked to also read terms specifically applying to each Flying Season Event.

By booking your tickets to a listed event, you acknowledge you have read and agreed to both sets of terms.

IWM Duxford Flying Season 2025

The following Terms and Conditions apply to ALL IWM Duxford Flying Season events. 

 

Your code of conduct

All visitors to IWM Duxford Flying Season shall agree to the following code of conduct:

  • To comply with all instructions of staff, IWM Volunteers, emergency services or other appropriate organisations at all times during the event.   
  • IWM has a zero tolerance approach to abusive language or threatening behaviour towards its staff and volunteers. IWM reserves the right to remove from an IWM Duxford Flying Season event anyone deemed to be behaving in a threatening or abusive way. 

Your booking

  • For information regarding your event tickets once you have booked, please contact us for help. 
  • Tickets are not available on the gate or online on the day of the event.  
  • Once purchased, tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. 
  • Tickets cannot be updated or changed in any way once purchased. 
  • IWM members can book tickets using your surname and member number which is the 14 digit number found on your membership card. 
  • General admission tickets are not valid for IWM Duxford Flying Season events, or any IWM other special ticketed events such as guided tours, lectures, and talks. 
  • Your event ticket(s) are only valid for the date printed on the ticket(s) and are not valid on general admission days or for other special ticketed events, or other days if the event runs for two days or more.   
  • IWM reserves the right to refuse admission, terminate a visit, close public areas, or restrict access to areas within the museum at short notice or without warning.  
  • Dogs and animals are not allowed on site (except guide dogs and assistance dogs). 
  • When you book your ticket(s), our Terms and Conditions and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are clearly available.  
  • You may be asked to acknowledge you have read these Terms and Conditions to checkout your tickets.  
  • Everyone in your party should be aware they are subject to these Terms and Conditions and come prepared on the day.  
  • Your tickets will be sent via email as an eticket. Please keep your booking email safe and make sure to print or download to your device tickets purchased for everyone in your party. 
  • Your ticket is only valid for the date printed on its face; it is not valid for admission on any other date. We cannot transfer your ticket to a different date.  
  • Tickets are not valid in conjunction with group rates or promotional offers, unless specified.  
  • Each ticket will be scanned on entry and each ticket number can only be scanned once. Anyone attempting to enter with a duplicate ticket will be refused entry. 
  • Tickets have no monetary value, and are not for resale except in very limited circumstances and with IWM written consent. 
  • We will (subject to our sole discretion) refuse entry to any person who attempts to enter an event with a ticket that has been resold without our written consent and no compensation whatsoever is payable by us if this occurs.  
  • IWM reserves the rights to refuse admission, or to require the ticket holder to leave the premises at any time. 
  • Please retain your ticket(s) throughout your visit.

Commercial Filming and Photography

  • Commercial filming and photography are not permitted without prior permission from IWM.  
  • You are not permitted to capture images of footage at events for commercial purposes (including monetised YouTube channels) unless you have our prior permission to do so. 
  • Live streaming of the event is not permitted unless you have our prior permission. 

Accessibility 

  • Visitors with a disability who are able to provide evidence of their disability are entitled to bring a carer free of charge to assist on their visit. 
  • We accept the following documentation (dated within the last two years) as proof of disability:
    • Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
    • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
    • Blue Badge
    • Signed letter from GP
  • Each visitor requiring a free carer should bring their own documentation. Please ensure you book your own free carer ticket.  Carer tickets are only available with a full price ticket, with the exception of a children's ticket for the Duxford Summer Air Show and Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show where both the child and the carer's tickets are free. 
  • If more than one carer is needed per visitor, please contact us to discuss. 

Refunds

  • In the event of an IWM Duxford Flying Season event being cancelled for any reason, a refund will not be offered.  
  • Refunds will not be given for any entrance fee for reasons outside of the organisers’ control. This includes but is not limited to, weather related circumstances, aircraft serviceability, etc. 
  • The published flying list is subject to weather conditions, aircraft serviceability, pilot availability and operational commitments. 
  • Imperial War Museums and Imperial War Museum Trading Company Ltd will store the data you supply securely and use it for the purpose of processing your order which may include us contacting you to advise of any situation which may directly affect your visit.

  • Liability in the event of a refundable cancellation does not extend beyond the cost of your transaction. IWM take no responsibility for any additional costs or consequential loss, including the cost of transport or accommodation. 

Groups, Travel Trade and Tour Operators

  • Tour operators and members of the travel trade are not permitted to purchase tickets from the IWM website.  
  • Travel trade purchases are subject to separate Terms and Conditions.  
  • Any tickets purchased by tour operators and members of the travel trade via our website and on these Terms will be invalid.  
  • Please contact us for more information on travel and tour operator relationships.   

Safety and Security

  • Your bags will be searched at the entrance by security.   
  • Searching is a condition of entry. 
  • Item(s) considered to be a weapon/ be used as a weapon, which may cause danger, or disruption will be confiscated.  
  • Any person carrying illegal items or carrying out illegal activity may be handed over to the Police, and/or refused entry. 
  • Anyone who represents a security risk, a nuisance, or annoyance, to the event or to any other visitors, staff and volunteers in the opinion of IWM will be removed from the site and a refund will not be offered.   
  • The use of drones or other UAVs for any reason at or near IWM Duxford is prohibited. This includes all areas within the Airfield Air Traffic Control Area.   
  • The following list of items (all but not limited to) are prohibited: chemicals of any kind, illegal drugs, barbecues, ladders or stepladders, laser pens, scooters and bicycles, weapons and replica weapons or offensive materials, balloons, drones of any kind or animals (except guide dogs or assistance dogs). Anything that risks the safety of other participants or aircraft at the event.   
  • You must comply with all instructions issued by IWM event officials, security staff, emergency services and other relevant organisations.   
  • Smoking is not permitted within any hangars, marquees, on the Flightline Walk or seating enclosures.   
  • Do not litter! All rubbish must be disposed of in a bin. Foreign Object Debris (FOD) can pose an extreme risk to participating aircraft.   
  • We will charge you for any damage that you cause to our venues or collection.   

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you

  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure to comply with these Terms or use reasonable care and skill.  
  • This includes liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents, or subcontractors; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and breach of your legal rights in relation to your tickets.  
  • We are not liable for business losses. We only supply tickets for private use.  
  • If you use the tickets for any commercial, business or re-sale purpose we will not be liable to you for any loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of profits or loss of business opportunity.  
  • Liability in the event of a refundable cancellation does not extend beyond the cost of your transaction. IWM take no responsibility for any additional costs or consequential loss, including the cost of transport or accommodation. 

Filming and Photography

  • We may authorise third parties to carry out filming, photography and/or sound recordings at our premises and at events.  
  • By purchasing tickets, you agree (on your own behalf and on behalf of any persons for whom you purchase tickets and who attend our premises/ an event) that we and any third party authorised by us may include you and those you have bought tickets for in such films, photographs and/or sound recordings and may exploit such films, photographs, and sound recordings in perpetuity in any format whatsoever without payment.   
  • You are responsible for bringing this provision to the attention of any person for whom you have bought tickets.  
  • IWM photographers may take images at events that could be kept on file and used for publicity purposes.

Data Protection

  • Imperial War Museums and Imperial War Museum Trading Company Ltd will store the data you supply securely and use it for the purpose of processing your order.

IWM Duxford Air Shows 

These additional Terms and Conditions apply to IWM Duxford Air Shows.

Please read our general terms and conditions above and the terms below for:

  • Duxford Summer Air Show
  • Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show 

By booking your tickets, you acknowledge you have read and agreed to both sets of terms.

Parking Permits 

  • If you are intending to travel by car and park on site, please ensure you have purchased your parking permit before you travel.  
  • Parking permits are not available at the gate, and you will be refused parking onsite on the day if you do not have a valid parking permit.  

Kids Go Free Offer

  • Children aged fifteen and under go free to Duxford Summer Air Show or Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show when you book a Standard adult ticket: but all children in your party will need a valid pre-booked free ticket to show on arrival.
  • Please note that the Kids Go Free offer applies to Standard ticket bookings only. Kids Go Free is not valid on Gold Experience or Grandstand bookings.
  • Please ensure that all children attending have a ticket before you set off. You cannot book tickets for children on the day.  
  • Children must always be accompanied and supervised by an adult.  

Gold Experience

  • Visitors able to provide evidence of their disability are entitled to bring one carer free of charge when booking the Gold Experience to assist on their visit. 
  • The Gold Experience carer ticket is not entitled to a complimentary program as part of their booking. 
  • We accept the following documentation, dated within the last two years, as proof of disability:
    • Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
    • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
    • Blue Badge
    • Signed letter from your GP

IWM members

  • IWM members receive 10% off Standard admission ticket prices to IWM Duxford Air Shows. 
  • IWM members can book tickets using your surname and member number which is the 14 digit number found on your membership card. Life members should continue to use their members discount code to access their member tickets and discounts.  
  • IWM members must ensure they have a valid active membership and valid membership card(s) on the date of their visit as well as the date of the purchase.  
  • IWM members will need to show a valid membership card for each discounted ticket purchased. 
  • For IWM family memberships and child tickets, this only requires the adult card(s) issued with the family membership. 
  • IWM members will need to show a valid membership card(s) in exchange for a wristband to gain access to the IWM Members’ Area (if capacity has not been reached at time of sale and your ticket includes access to the Members’ Area).  

     

Duxford Flying Evening

These additional Terms and Conditions (below) apply to IWM Duxford Flying Evening.

Please read our general terms and conditions and the terms below. 

By booking your tickets, you acknowledge you have read and agreed to both sets of terms.

Your booking

  • Children do not go free for this event.
  • Children aged 5 to 15 years will need to purchase a ticket for Duxford Flying Evening. 
  • Children under the age of five are free, but you still need to book a free child ticket for them when you make your booking.  
  • Please ensure that all children attending have a ticket before you set off. 
  • Children aged 15 years and under must always be accompanied and supervised by an adult. 
  • Free event shuttle buses do not run on Duxford Flying Evening.
  • Parking permits are not required.

IWM members

  • As a special event, IWM members receive 10% off Standard admission ticket prices to Duxford Flying Evening. 
  • IWM members can book tickets using your surname and member number which is the 14 digit number found on your membership card. 
  • IWM members must ensure they have a valid membership and valid membership card(s) on the date of their visit as well as the date of the purchase. 
  • IWM members will need to show a valid membership card for each discounted ticket purchased.
  • For IWM family memberships and child tickets this only requires the adult card(s) issued with the family membership. 
  • There is no IWM members area at Duxford Flying Evening. A members area is only available at Duxford Summer Air Show and Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show.

Duxford Flying Finale  

These additional Terms and Conditions (below) apply to IWM Duxford Flying Finale.

By booking your tickets, you acknowledge you have read and agreed to both sets of terms.

  • Children do not go free for this event.
  • Children aged 5 to 15 years of age will need a purchased ticket for Duxford Flying Finale. 
  • Children under the age of five are free, but you still need to book a free child ticket for them when you make your booking.  
  • Please ensure that all children attending have a ticket before you set out. 
  • Children aged fifteen and under must always be accompanied and supervised by an adult. 
  • Free event shuttle buses do not run on Duxford Flying Finale day.
  • Parking permits are not required.

IWM members

  • As a special event day, IWM members receive 10% off Standard admission ticket prices to Duxford Flying Finale. 
  • IWM members can book tickets using your surname and member number which is the 14 digit number found on your membership card. 
  • IWM members must ensure they have a valid membership and valid membership card(s) on the date of their visit as well as the date of the purchase. 
  • IWM members will need to show a valid membership card for each discounted ticket purchased. 
  • For IWM family memberships and child tickets this only requires the adult card(s) issued with the family membership. 
  • There is no IWM members area at Duxford Flying Finale. A members area is only available at Duxford Summer Air Show and Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show.

Duxford Flying Days

These additional Terms and Conditions (below) apply to IWM Duxford Flying Days.

  • Tickets must be advance booked through our IWM website. IWM members can book tickets using your surname and member number which is the 14 digit number found on your membership card. 
  • IWM members must ensure they have a valid membership and valid membership card(s) on the date of their visit as well as the date of the purchase. 
  • For IWM family memberships and child tickets this only requires the adult card(s) issued with the family membership. 
  • There is no IWM members area at Duxford Flying Days. A members area is only available at Duxford Summer Air Show and Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show.
  • IWM member tickets giving free entry to Duxford Flying Days are strictly non-transferable and must only be used by an IWM member with a valid active IWM membership.
