Horrible Histories: Spies

Transforming IWM London

Over the next decade, IWM London will be remodelled, creating new gallery spaces and new ways for you to explore and engage with our rich collections.

In summer 2014, we will launch the first phase of our masterplan, with the opening of brand new First World War Galleries, our new atrium and terrace displays, new shops, toilets and a café that will open directly onto Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park.

Our new First World War Galleries are a major part of IWM’s contribution to the Centenary of the First World War – a landmark anniversary which will be marked nationally and internationally. Using the latest historical research, our exceptional collections and innovative technology our new Galleries will offer new stories and new perspectives on the first global war.

Our new atrium space, at the heart of the museum, will see iconic and striking objects suspended from the ceiling and displayed across new terraces at each floor telling the stories of conflict since the First World War to the present day.

Our transformation is well underway and current access around the museum is limited and some of our galleries are closed. Find out more at Visitor Information.
