Booking and Information

Non-School Groups

Non-school groups do not need to book in advance for a general visit to IWM London. See our Group Visits page for more information.

School Groups

  • All UK schools wishing to visit must pre-book using our online visit request form. We are not able to offer a booking service for overseas schools.
  • If after reading our website you still have a general enquiry please email learningbookings@iwm.org.uk. We are not able take bookings or to respond to queries by phone or fax.

Using the Form

  • Once you have decided what you would like to do, fill in the online visit request form. Due to the volume of requests we receive we are not able to check availability or make provisional bookings.
  • To ensure all requests are dealt with fairly we will respond to all forms in the order in which they are received. We endeavour to respond to every form within ten working days.
  • If you wish to bring multiple groups on different days please use a single form. In the ‘How many students are you bringing’ box please indicate clearly the number of groups you wish to bring and the number of students in each group e.g. three groups of 58 students. In the date options boxes please tell us the dates for each group eg. ‘Group One on 24 or 25 Jan, Group Two on 26 or 27 Jan, Group Three on 31 Jan or 1 Feb’.
  • Using the information you supply we will endeavour to arrange a visit itinerary for you. This will be based on your time of arrival and departure and the availability and timings of the activities you have requested.
  • If we are able to offer you a visit that meets the majority of your requests we will make a confirmed booking and email you a confirmation letter.
  • If we are not able to meet the majority of your choices on any of the dates you have requested we will contact you and either offer you alternative dates in the same term or ask that you complete a new form for a subsequent term.
  • We cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate any subsequent requests for additional activities to be added to a confirmed visit.
  • If you choose to change the date of a confirmed visit or make changes to chargeable activities this will be treated as a cancellation. You may be asked to complete a new request form.
  • If after submitting your request form you need to make a change please DO NOT submit another form – email the change to learningbookings@iwm.org.uk. We aim to respond to all email enquiries within two working days.
  • Please do not make any travel arrangements until you have received a confirmation letter from us.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be made in writing to lrcancellations@iwm.org.uk.
  • Bookings cancelled more than four weeks (28 days) prior to the visit date will not be charged an administration fee.
