Over the next decade, IWM London is being transformed, creating new gallery spaces and new ways for visitors to explore our unique collections.
The first phase of our ambitious plan is already underway and launches in 2014 with a new Atrium and brand new First World War Galleries to mark the Centenary of the First World War.
While the major construction works are undertaken at IWM London, over 65 large objects will be relocated to IWM Duxford. Some of these objects will go on public display, including items that have never been on display here before.

Once these objects have arrived, our Conservation team will begin their work to clean and conserve them ready to go on display in the spectacular new Atrium at IWM London in summer 2014.
IWM Duxford will be at its most dynamic over the coming months, with a fascinating range of items arriving at and moving around the site, alongside dedicated and detailed conservation work, some of which you’ll be able to see as you explore the museum.
Come and see IWM Duxford prepare for this landmark phase in IWM’s future development.
