There's plenty of fun to be had across our mile-long site, both across the hangars and out on the airfield. Be sure to check out our top tips to help you plan your visit.

We recommend allowing at least half a day for your visit, with time to refuel in our onsite cafes and restaurant. 

IWM members go free.  

Our playground has now closed, but our brand-new play area The Weston Play Zone is under construction and will open in early summer 2024.

To get the most out of your visit we recommend you spend at least half a day here – there’s six enormous hangars and more to explore.

Our visitors often find they need more than a day to see everything, but an IWM family membership gets you free admission all year round!

Join IWM with a family membership and you'll get unlimited free entry to all of our charging sites.

If it’s sunny you’ll want to enjoy our huge outdoor site, so don’t forget to bring sun cream and sunglasses.  If it’s overcast or raining, bring layers.

There are indoor and outdoor spaces at IWM Duxford so there’s something to do in all weathers! We suggest wearing comfy shoes as there will be lots of walking around.

We’re between Cambridge and Stansted on the M11.  

The easiest way to get to IWM Duxford is by car, and we offer free parking. We are also accessible by public transport or you can fly in!

Everyone is welcome at IWM Duxford! Under 5s get in for free. 

Buggies are allowed across the site, but we do not have a buggy park. Scooters, bikes and skateboards are not allowed. 

Baby change facilities are located in the main Visitor Centre and across the site.

 

Yes! The entire site is wheelchair accessible, and we have a visitor shuttle bus that can transport visitors across the site.

If you get hungry on your visit, enter The Armoury Café and The American Museum Café for a snack. The Workshop Restaurant is available for a more of a sit-down experience for all.

We also have outdoor seating across the site where you can eat your own packed lunch. 

New drinking water fountains will be available from mid-February 2023.

Start at the Visitor Planning Point in AirSpace and meet our IWM Volunteers, who will be only too happy to help you plan your day out.
