Visiting us by Car
There are not any designated parking spaces for visitors to the Churchill War Rooms but metered parking is available in the local area. Charges apply from 8.30am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Parking in the local area is controlled by the London Borough of Westminster. There are also two car parks nearby:

The Churchill War Rooms is within the London Congestion Charge zone. The daily Congestion Charge rate is £10.00. Please visit the Transport for London Congestion Charge website for further details on how to pay the charge.
Visiting us by Coach
There are not any designated coach parking spaces for coaches visiting the Churchill War Rooms and coach parking in the area is limited. There is a good coach parking map available from Transport for London to help you plan a coach visit. The Royal Parks permits coaches through St James's Park and Hyde Park only if they purchase an advance drive-through permit.
Visiting us by Boat
You can get to Westminster Pier by the regular boat tours operating throughout the day on the River Thames. The pier is roughly an eight-minute walk from the Churchill War Rooms. For more information on the variety of operators serving the River Thames please visit:
Walking and Cycling
There are three Barclays Cycle Hire Scheme docking stations near the Churchill War Rooms on Storey's Gate, Victoria Embankment and Abbey Orchard Street. See the Transport for London cycling website for details. Visit the Sustrans website for further information on London Cycle Routes.
The Churchill War Rooms is situated near the Thames Path, one of London's key routes connecting more than a hundred attractions including more than 30 museums, a dozen parks and gardens, 21 historic monuments and seven art galleries. See the Thames Path website for more details.
How Long Will You Stay?
We recommend you give yourself at least 90 minutes to look around the Churchill War Rooms. However, with our on-site café and the amount of information to be found in the Churchill Museum, lots of people come for half-a day or more.
Things to See and Do in the Area
The Churchill War Rooms is only a 20-minute bus ride from IWM London or HMS Belfast. It is also close to a wide range of famous tourist attractions including Tate Britain, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. St James's Park is also on our doorstep.
