Elephants were used in the Second World War in Burma to move heavy goods and equipment as they could get into places in the jungle that other forms of transport just couldn't reach. In the exhibition you'll be able to stand next to a special full-size elephant, like the ones used during the war against Japan to build bridges and move aeroplanes.

Explore the remarkable role of animals in conflict from the First World War to the present day.
