HMS BELFAST: COLOURS TO SUNSET
HMS Belfast is Europe’s last remaining Second World War cruiser, she is now a museum ship moored on the River Thames in London.
‘Colours’, takes place at 0800 everyday on board the ship, this is when the White Ensign and Union flags are raised. At ‘Sunset’, both flags are lowered again.
From HMS Belfast’s first days to her last days at sea (from ‘Colours to Sunset’) this website brings together some of the events of her service through artefacts, documents, photographs and first hand accounts as well as sound and film clips to truly bring alive HMS Belfast’s past and the memories of those she has touched.
