10482/8 General Jeremy Moore
It was an interesting situation that, going in for the surrender, first of all, because it was a thing I hadn't done ever in my life and I found it a very nerve racking moment. Because of course, you know, one felt the weight I suppose, this man must surrender now and sure all logic says of course he's going to surrender. But I don't know, maybe other people wouldn't, I felt pretty vulnerable, supposing I said the wrong thing and upset him and he just said "I'm not going to" or whatever, you know. In any case what was he going to surrender, was he going to surrender all the forces on the Falklands or was he only going to surrender the Garrison of Stanley or what. So I think there was a lot of internal tension and the release really came when he had signed the document. Then one felt, you know, okay, now things are alright.
