Gas masks for all

The government was convinced that the Nazis would attack with gas bombs, and so they supplied every single person on Britain with a 'respirator' - even babies.  

Posters told you to 'carry your gas mask at all times'; people were fined if they were caught without their respirators; everyone practiced putting on and taking off their gas masks.
