Mining and Tunnelling at Anzac Cove

When the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landed at Gallipoli on 25th April 1915, among the first troops ashore were men of the Royal Australian Engineers. This brief article gives a general description of the activities of the Australian field companies who are remembered for their underground war and whose results proved that tunnelling and mining remained essential skills on modern battlefields.
