Many
Commonwealth countries presented gifts to the people of Great Britain as part of
the war effort.These gifts
ranged from the costs of providing an entire air squadron (presented by
Hyderabad, India, in 1944) to mobile canteens used for providing food for the
homeless and their rescuers after an air raid. |
