Every branch of the Imperial War Museum is a great place for learning, for schools, families and all ages. We have three branches in London: Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, HMS Belfast, and IWM London. IWM Duxford is in Cambridgeshire, and IWM North is on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal. Take part at any branch, and learn how war shapes lives. You can read about our work from 2002 - 2007 in this Five Year Report (PDF, 348 KB) Community learning supported by business
The Imperial War Museum is committed to working with business partners to deliver the best possible learning service. A recent joint photography project with AXA Art was a great example of this form of partnership. If your business is interested in supporting learning at the IWM, please contact Steve Gardam, Head of Corporate Education, on 020 7416 5354.
Their Past Your Future
Their Past Your Future (TPYF) is a UK-wide education project to increase young people’s understanding and appreciation of history, national identity and civic participation. The TPYF programme is based on young people meeting veterans of conflict and visiting commemorative sites across the globe. TPYF now offers the InSite programme of Professional Development for educators to develop their skills to organise and lead similar trips. Online Resources
We have a great set of online resources for teachers to use. Explore Media & War or get your class find out about life during the Second World War. Kids - of all ages - can play the Churchill Card Game, Protect the Convoy, and our great crosswords. Look for the featured games and resources below.
