Welcome to the recruitment pages of the Imperial War Museum's website. The Imperial War Museum operates recruitment in line with current legislative guidelines, good practice and with due diligence. The basic principles of which set out that the Imperial War Museum appointments will be made by fair and open competition and selection on merit. The recruitment process involves a number of stages and the combination of stages varies depending on the post that is being filled.
You will enter the process once you have completed and submitted an application form and equal opportunities monitoring form. All recruitment exercises will include an emailed application form unless otherwise agreed in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. A CV in itself will not be sufficient for your application to be considered and you should only email a CV if you are explicitly requested to do so. Your application form will be evaluated in order to assess your suitability for interview.
For certain posts we may invite candidates to undertake a selection test or attend an assessment centre. Any of the following stages may be used to consider your application during this process (not necessarily occurring in the order given below):
- Short-listing using written tests, IT skills, typing, numeracy etc
- Job simulation exercises; in-tray exercises, presentations, group exercises etc
- Psychometric testing
- Interviews
The Job Specific Information (see Current Job Opportunities page) will provide details of the stages involved in recruiting to the post you have applied for, the Job Description and Personal Specification and any other relevant information.
