Labour Corps
At the outbreak of the First World War the demand for unskilled labour came mainly from the Lines of Communication and the Base Ports, and was satisfied initially by fatigue parties of soldiers and French civilians.

Lancaster bomber
The best known and most successful British heavy bomber used by the RAF during the Second World War was the Avro Lancaster.

Liberator bomber
Of similar size to the B-17 Fortress, the Liberator was a later and more advanced design, the prototype flying in 1939.
