Project Description

This evening recital of a collection of poetry, prose and original correspondence from and to the battlefields of the First World War, marks the first collaboration between Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery and The Questors Theatre. These often poignant extracts are from a huge archive of letters, reports and writings of the four-year period of this painful conflict. Many of these words have never been read before and all create a moving backdrop to a world involved in both the practicalities and emotions of ‘The Great War’. Performed in the main gallery at Pitzhanger Manor against the backdrop of the exhibition Crossing the Field, this promises to be a moving and thought-provoking evening.
