- A white granite ashlar pillar surmounted by a wheel cross, on a two step base. Grey slate tablets on three faces bear the inscription incised in black upright capital Roman lettering.

- 1925-6: Built Nov 2004: Council voted to move memorial to memorial garden, after concerns about damage from heavy traffic and vandalism and inaccessibility. Nov 2004: War Memorials Trust awarded £250 towards costs of restoration and relocation of memorial. 30 March 2005: Listed Grade II, English Heritage reference 493064. February 2006: Petition raised to keep memorial in original location. War Memorials Trust grant time expired. Removal proposals abandoned.
