History
2022: The plaque (which carries the commemoration shown here and is on the West facing side) and that which shows the mason's name (close to the base on the East) are in good order and are presumably the later, 2011 additions as on the East side of the memorial there are feint traces of now unreadable lettering which may reflect the wear and tear recorded earlier. 2011: The Town Council received a 50% grant towards new granite slabs, railings and a brass plaque. 2009: Advised that it is quite worn and many names may not be readable. Date unknown: Damaged by a vehicle.
