THREE-STEPPED BASE SURMOUNTED BY SQUARE PLINTH AND FIGURE OF A SERVICEMAN PROTECTING A MOTHER AND CHILD WHO SHELTER BENEATH HIM. INSCRIPTION ON THE SIDES OF THE PLINTH WITH ADDITIONAL TABLET FOR WW2 PLACED AT THE FOOT OF THE 6 O'CLOCK FACE. Undated photograph shows nearby field gun.
