History
As part of the project to re-site the memorial in 2000, the stonework was cleaned and, where necessary, lettering re-cut on the 1914-1918 names. A newly inscribed tablet has been added to the plinth to include the names of the 1939-1945 war dead, to replace the original tablet that used to be laid against the foot of the memorial when in its old location. The cross has been enclosed within iron railings and a flagpole positioned alongside.
