Description

BRONZE PLAQUE WITH BROKEN TRIANGULAR PEDIMENT AND NOWY SHAPED BASE. INSCRIPTION IN RELIEF TWO FEMALE FIGURES DEPICTED IN LOW RELIEF AT THE BOTTOM LEFT AND RIGHT OF THE PLAQUE. BOTH HOLD LARGE BANNERS IN ONE HAND. THE FEMALE ON THE LEFT KNEELS WITH HEAD BOWED AND HOLDS A WREATH IN HER OTHER HAND AND THE FEMALE ON THE RIGHT KNEELS WITH HEAD HELD UPRIGHT AND HOLDS A DAGGER IN HER OTHER HAND. COLOURED REGIMENTAL BADGES OF THE QAIMNS, QAIMNSR AND TFNS AT THE TOP CENTRE OF THE PLAQUE.

In 1921 the plaque was stated to be set in green marble, but current photographs show it fixed directly to the wall. The name of Catherine C.C. Miller was originally shown as Caroline C.C.Miller.
