  • The Scotsman 4 October 1919 -KIRKLISTON WAR MEMORIAL -The Committee appointed by the inhabitants of Kirkliston and district have approved of a war memorial design prepared by Mr John Jordan, architect, Edinburgh. A very suitable corner site has been presented by Sir John Stewart Clark. The memorial's chief feature is an obelisk on a stepped base, with stone paving and walls.
  • West Lothian Courier - Friday 14 May 1920 -WAR MEMORIAL UNVEILED AT KIRKLISTON.-IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY. (drawing of the memorial)
  • West Lothian Courier - Friday 12 May 1922 -KIRKLISTON WAR MEMORIAL-Committee dissolved as work completed and accounts settled.
  • Linlithgowshire Gazette - Friday 12 April 1946 -WAR MEMORIAL RESTORATION-The chairman then spoke the alterations required and informed the meeting that the names had been obliterated for security reasons, and they proposed to put a new stone panel with the four names of those men who made the supreme sacrifice in this war.
