Description
A shrine constructed in sandstone across what appears to have originally been the entrance gateway to the old kirk. The flanking pillars bear the date 1703 which is presumably the date of the construction of the kirk itself. The memorial has three bronze tablets bearing the commemoration and names of the dead, with a shield and lion rampant carved in the sandstone above, and a wreath and the words 'PRO PATRIA' in bronze beneath. Cast iron railings surround the frontage of the memorial. According to the Historic Scotland listing there is a WW2 memorial inside the church, no details can be traced of this memorial- a physical visit is required.
