- Description
- Approximately rectangular off white marble tablet , on a dark grey marble backboard . At each side is a fluted column , at top a flat gently curved pediment on which in low relief is a display of furled regimental standards with the badge of the 16th Bedfordshire Regiment and Royal Crown at centre . On the face of the tablet is the dedication and names . all incised and coloured black.

- IN MEMORY OF/THE FOLLOWING OFFICERS/NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND PRIVATES/WHO DIED OF YELLOW FEVER AND OTHER CAUSES/FROM 1866 TO 1869/DURING WHICH PERIOD THE REGIMENT WAS SERVING/IN THE WEST INDIES /NAMES /NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS/NAMES/PRIVATES/NAMES/ALSO /NAMES/THIS TABLET IS ERECTED /BY THE SURVIVING OFFICERS/NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND PRIVATES /AS A TOKEN OF THEIR REGRET/
