- Kilmarnock Herald and North Ayrshire Gazette (page 7) reported on Friday 27/9/1946: 'DUNDONALD NOTES A new War Memorial in memory of those of the village who gave their lives in the late war was unveiled in Dundonald Church on Sunday last, by Mrs G. Etheridge.
