- Buckingham Advertiser and Free Press - Saturday 03 July 1920 (page 4) www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0001082/19200703/078/0004 "In commemoration of the 15 members of the Bucks Constabulary who lost their lives in the Great War, a brass tablet has been erected in the County Hall at Aylesbury. The memorial tablet was unveiled on Monday by Lord Cottesloe as Chairman of the Bucks Standing Joint Committee. Major Otway Mayne, the Chief Constable, stated that 75 members of the Bucks Constabulary served in the Forces, being 35½ per cent of the total strength, and 15 lost their lives. Others were wounded and gassed, and so were unable to return to duty. The tablet had been affixed just above the one erected to the memory of men who fell in the Boer War".
- Bucks Herald: on 10/1/1920 (page 9) reported that permission had been given to the Chief Constable to erect a memorial in the lobby of the Assize Court. On 3/7/1920 (page 11) the Bucks Herald printed a lengthy report of the unveiling ceremony.
