- Description
- The memorial comprises two miniature cenotaphs in Aberdeen grey granite fixed on a base of hard York stone steps. There are four bronze tablets on each of the two cenotaphs each containing 46 names of those who died in WW1 and WW2 and on each of the narrow sides is a bronze laurel wreath. The central memorial is on a two-stepped base of York stone surmounted by Kennay granite pedestal, surmounted by a Carrara marble figure of a Royal Welsh Fusilier in Khaki uiform with slough hat, standing at ease with arms reversed. Original Inscriptions in raised cartouche on the plinth commemorating those who fell in the South African War, 1899 - 1902. The whole stands in the WW2 Garden of Remembrance.
