- Description
- Bronze Plaque set into a dark oak surround with side columns and ornate pediments. The words “The Great War” flanked by the dates are at the top, painted in gold serif capitals. The names are listed in three columns, the names sunk in casting and enamelled white. Right at the bottom, the words “For freedom’s cause” are deeply carved and gilded into a marble base. The dedication for 1939-45 is below the main plaque, the lettering gilded in Roman capitals.
