Description
Rectangular board with an extension at the top with the academy crest, and a carved pillar each side. Along the lower edge are three carved wreaths and the names are in three columns in gold lettering.

  • Forfar Dispatch 18 November 1948 (page 2) reported the unveiling in depth, mentioning that the designer was the Academy's principal Art teacher.
  • Forfar Dispatch 20 May 1948 (page 1) reported that the cost of the memorial was to be met by subscription from former pupils, who were invited to send contributions.
  • Dundee Evening Telegraph 5 October 1948 (page 1) mentioned that the memorial was among those whose construction Her Majesty the Queen had taken a keen interest in during her visit that day to the Lord Roberts Memorial Workshops in Dundee.
