Description
A limestone cross on an octagonal pedestal, plinth and three stepped base accompanied by a series of bronze plaques mounted on the adjacent churchyard wall. The potent cross is octagonal in section with an inverted bronze sword on the 6 o'clock face and the tapered shaft has a moulded octagonal foot. The cross surmounts a plain octagonal pedestal with an incised inscription on the 6 o'clock face in upright capital Roman lettering. The pedestal surmounts an octagonal plinth with hollowed top and a plain octagonal three stepped base. The six bronze plaques each have oblong frames containing several plates which bear the names in raised upright capital block lettering. It is presumed that four plaques were originally installed following WW1 and the further two added after WW2 but the latter were inserted within the earlier group so that they do not present a contiguous list of names.
