- Description
- Two pieces of cardboard with writing in black calligraphy, except ‘On Active Service’ which is in red. This should be read together with the memorial at the Church, our reference 48989, which has an addition for WW2, but without (apparently), names. This list never set out to record the dead, but very probably several on the list did lose their lives in the service of their country. This Church became United Reformed in 1972 when the Congregational and United Reformed Churches merged nationally, and was closed in 1976 when the congregation united with Warwick Road Presbyterian Church and that church was renamed St. George’s Church which itself closed in 2014
