Description
A sandstone monument comprising an obelisk on a pedestal and three stepped base surrounded by a gravelled surface and iron railings with gate. The plain obelisk has inscriptions at the foot of the 6 and 3 o'clock faces. The square pedestal comprises a capstone with moulded edges on a plain die with inscriptions on the 6, 12 and 3 o'clock faces. The incised inscriptions are in upright capital block lettering coloured black.

History
18th January 2012: The inscription on the lower part of the 3 o'clock face of the pedestal had slight spalling, presumably from weathering. 29 March 1974: The memorial lies within the Hardwick and Rowthorne Conservation Area designated on that date.
