- Description
- A sandstone monument comprising a wheel cross on a pedestal, plinth and base, with two bronze plaques. The cross has a design on the 6 and 12 o'clock faces comprising a central boss and interlaced strapwork in relief extending over the upper three limbs and a similar distance down the shaft. The cross surmounts a battered pedestal with moulded and bevelled top, a plinth with bevelled top and a base. The pedestal has a trapezoidal WW1 plaque recessed into the 6 o'clock face bearing an inscription and names in raised upright capital roman lettering. The foot of the shaft bears an oblong WW2 plaque on its 6 o'clock face with an incised inscription in upright sentence case block lettering coloured white.

- 17 January 2014: There was a small crack on the 12 o'clock face of the base and on the 3 o'clock face of the pedestal. 2008: Repair and conservation work implemented, supported by a grant from the War Memorials Trust, reference WM2166. 1989-1992: The original plaques were stolen and subsequently replaced. The inscriptions may not have been exact copies of the originals.
