Description
A stone monument in the style of a traditional Lincolnshire wayside cross, with a square, three-stepped base. Replacement polished granite tablets are fixed on all four sides to the uppermost block. Standing on this block is an octagonal plinth with shield devices carved in relief on the four corners. Running around the memorial clockwise from the eastern corner, the shields are carved with the inscriptions Pro Patria, Pro Rege, Pro Deo and Pro Recto. Following the Second World War an additional inscription was added to the memorial with a further four names. Inscription and names are on faces 1, 2 and 3 of the granite tablets, incised and picked out in black. The memorial is located within a triangular wrought-iron fenced island.
