- Description
- Bronze plaque with a decorative border and roses set in a square at each corner. At the top are the dates of WW1 and the Bank's badge surrounded by a wreath. The dedication is below this with the names in three columns. A quotation is at the bottom. When the memorial was located in Lombard Street it was placed on a wall and framed by an archway that was supported by two columns. A cross was carved into the stone above the memorial.

- 1914 1919/ 1831 1918/ GRATEFULLY DEDICATED BY/ THE PROPRIETORS OF THE BANK OF/ LIVERPOOL AND MARTINS LIMITED TO/ THE MEMORY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE/ STAFF WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR./ (Names)/ THEY WHOM THIS TABLET/ COMMEMORATES WERE NUMBERED/ AMONG THOSE WHO, AT THE CALL OF/ KING AND COUNTRY, LEFT ALL THAT/ WAS DEAR TO THEM, ENDURED HARDNESS, FACED DANGER,/ AND FINALLY PASSED OUT OF THE SIGHT OF MEN BY/ THE PATH OF DUTY, AND SELF SACRIFICE, GIVING UP/ THEIR OWN LIVES THAT OTHERS MIGHT LIVE IN FREEDOM./ LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT THAT/ THEIR NAMES BE NOT FORGOTTEN.
