- History
- The Hightown Church, then the only Methodist church in the town centre in, offered to renovate the plaque, following its rediscovery at a car boot sale. The Plaque was restored in 2018 by the Crewe Heritage Centre to mark the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War1, this includes the removal of a small dent in the bottom of the Plaque. In addition to this a Composite board is now displayed below the memorial with a brief history of the 10 men that are commemorated on the Memorial. The memorial is now displayed in the Exhibition Hall at the Heritage Centre and is accompanied by several displays focusing on Crewe’s effort to the Boer, First and Second World War.
