- Description
- Rectangular stone tablet with triangular pedimented top set on a stone block base. Inscription in black lettering. It is set within a walled garden with a sloped path leading up to the memorial. WW2 tablet has been set into the base below the main section of the memorial. A wrought iron fence encloses the area with an painted entrance gate. On the gate is depicted a landscape formed of a ship on water and a tree in the foreground with hills in the background. At the top is a thistle flanked by two poppies and a leaf. At the bottom are two thistles. Crown within a wreath is engraved at the top centre of the tablet. The memorial covers the communities of Kyle of Lochalsh, Plockton, Avernish, Auchtertyre, Nonach, Ardelve, Balmacara, Kirkton, Sallachy and Strone)
