- Description
- A square stone pillar on a single stepped base surmounted by a Latin cross. There are dedicatory tablets on all four sides of the pillar. The top of the pillar is decorated with four carvings that sit below the Latin cross. On the South face is the date 1914-1918 with a William Laurel Wreath. On the north face is the crown of victory in a wreath. On the east face, a Latin cross of sacrifice in a wreath. And on the West face two crossed swords in a wreath. The pillar sits within a low metal barrier. SOUTH FACE: DATE 1914-1918 WITHIN LAUREL WREATH WEST FACE: CROSSED SWORDS WITH WORD WAR NORTH FACE: CROWN OF VICTORY EAST FACE: CROSS OF SACRIFICE
