- Large vertical rectangular marble tablet. Ornamentation consists of insignia of Royal Engineers and Grenadier Guards and memorial has mosaic tile surround.

- TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ CORPORAL ARTHUR NEEDHAM/ SPECIAL BRIGADE, ROYAL ENGINEERS/ WHO DIED FROM WOUNDS RECEIVED AT/ THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME/ AUGUST 31st 1916 AGED 35 YEARS/ ALSO OF PRIVATE LEONARD NEEDHAM/ 3rd BATTALION, GRENADIER GUARDS/ WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION AT THE/ BATTLE OF LOOS/ OCTOBER 8th 1915, AGED 31 YEARS/ ONLY SONS OF/ RICHARD AND HARRIET NEEDHAM/ STALYBRIDGE/ IN THE EARLY DAYS OF THE GREAT WAR/ THEY FREELY AND WILLINGLY RESPONDED/ TO THE CALL OF DUTY, AND FELL FIGHTING/ FOR KING AND COUNTRY, IN THE NOBLE/ CAUSE OF JUSTICE AND FREEDOM/ GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS THAT/ A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS
