Description
Granite base surmounted a plinth, a tapered pedestal and a servicemen staue. Figure stands with head bowed and arms reversed. The barrel of his gun rests on his foot. Inscription in cast bronze on the face of the plinth. Missing letters are painted in black. whole is surrounded by a granite kerb topped by cast iron railings, some of which are topped by original cast iron pine cones.Copper ribbon used to go around the plinth but now it only survives on the south face along with a buckle and a wreath
