- Description
- A celtic style battlefield cross , painted grey , the dedication painted in black extending over the cross member and on the upright just above the crossing point . The dedication appears to extend onto the upright just below the crossing point but the words are illegiible . Just below the cross is a rectangular metal plaque which is clearly associated with the battlefield cross and is treated as part of the memorial An earlier description. pre 2016 , describes a metal cross embedded in the cross but there is now no trace of this .

- Battlefield Cross: /CAPTAIN/ THE HONBLE T C AGAR ROBARTES MP/ COLDSTREAM GUARDS/ WHO DIED SEPT 30TH 1915 OF WOUNDS RECEIVED/ IN ACTION/ NR LOOS/ Metal plaque just below the cross /Captain the Honourable/T C Agar-Robartes MP/Coldstream Guards /Died September 30th 1915/of wounds received in/action near Loos/ Metal cross: THE HONBLE T C AGAR ROBARTES MP/ CAPTAIN COLDSTREAM GUARDS/ DIED OF WOUNDS 30TH SEPTEMBER 1915 . This pre 2016 description is left in place , as a historical record , but there is no trace of this metal cross as at 2022 . Bottom: CROSSES TRANSFERRED FROM THE GRAVE IN THE MILITARY CEMETERY AT/ LAPIGNEY, NE FRANCE WHEN A PERMANENT HEADSTONE WAS PLACED/ THERE BY THE IMPERIAL WAR GRAVES COMMISSION IN 1923. This pre 2016 description is left in place as a historical record , but there is no trace of this as at 2022 .
