Description
A garden with five British and five Japanese maples. Within the garden there are two separate memorials as well as personal commemorative plaques. The Hiroshima Stone is a conical structure of bricks set on a slate circular base with an inscription engraved on the base. The cone is topped by a small square brick taken from paving outside the Hiroshima City Hall. A stone tablet, inscribed with information about the Hiroshima Stone, is affixed to a stone slab and laid on the ground nearby. The Reconciliation Stone is an irregular shaped upright rough-cast stone with a smoothed rectangular section inset on the front face. This is engraved with the capitalised words in gold lettering "The Reconciliation Stone". A rectangular board is affixed to two wooden posts in front of the stone with an explanation of its origins and purpose.
