RECTANGULAR INSCRIPTION TABLET WITH CORNICE MOUNTED ONTO A BLACK MARBLE BACKBOARD. ROLLED FLAG, HEMET AND TWO REGIMENTAL FLAGS CARVED IN RELIEF AT THE BASE OF THE INSCRIPTION TABLET. CREST DEPICTED IN RELIEF ABOVE THE INSCRIPTION TABLET.

TO THE MEMROY OF/ ARCHIBALD DOUGLAS MONTEATH/ LIEUTENANT 3RD DRAGOON GUARDS/ WHO DIED IN DUBLIN/ ON THE 20TH OF FEBRUARY 1853,/ AGED 26 YEARS./ THIS TABLET IS ERECTED/ BY HIS BROTHER OFFICERS/ BY WHOM HE WAS BELOVED & ESTEEMED.
