- Rectangular stone tablet bordered by two columns and an upper plinth. Above the tablet, a weeping cherub figure seated by a draped urn. Below inscription, a winged cherub head.

- To the Memory of / WILLIAM Son of JOHN and ELIZABETH CLARKE / Late Commander of the Ship Iris/ who was unfortunately slain on the eve of Victory / in an attack upon a Dutch ship of superior force in the Indian Ocean / on the 7th day of November 1804, Aged 37 / To an ardent and enterprising Spirit and a Courage equal / to every danger he joined all the able qualities / of a dutiful Son and affectionate brother and by a deportment uniformly open and generous obtained / the regard and esteem of all who knew him.//
